April Fools Day Event & Vesper Weapon Giveaway
The April Fools Day Event and the follow-up Vesper Weapon Giveaway are all tied up and the winners have received their prizes! In the winners list below you will find that there is one more final surprise for the players. We've ensured that all servers were able to participate in both situations and all servers received an equal number of winners and prizes. Congratulations to all the winners! Vesper Weapon Giveaway

As you all know, during the April Fools Day Event a few weeks ago, there was an opportunity on each server to receive a real Vesper Weapon by picking up a certain dropped item, the April Fools Day Special Gift! Unfortunately, some of the players that were lucky enough to find these gift boxes were found to be using third party programs in violation of the Rules of Conduct when they collected them. But don't worry, because we've confiscated the gift boxes from them and banned the offenders! Now we have all these boxes with real Vesper weapons inside and we wanted to give them back to honest players in a fair yet random way. So, we decided to hold a giveaway!

Next week, you will have a chance to participate in a giveaway with a random chance to win one of the confiscated April Fools Special Gift boxes, which will give you a random Vesper weapon for keeps!

How it works:

On the day of your server's giveaway, log in a little bit before the entry period starts and be ready. You will then see an in-game announcement once it begins, instructing you to send 1 in-game mail to a particular character, including a sentence that will be a part of that announcement. This character will be accepting mail for 1 hour, or until their mailbox is full (after 240 pieces of mail have been received). If you send more that one entry, all of that character's entries be deleted and you will be blocked, to prevent spam. After the entry period closes, out of all of the eligible mails, one entry will be randomly selected. Once we verify that person's account according to the conditions below, and once they have accepted the winner's legal terms, they will be awarded a April Fools Day Special Gift box, straight to their warehouse.

All of the winners from this giveaway, as well as the legitimate winners on April 1st, will later be listed on this page as a conclusion to the entire event.

Eligibility:

To participate in the Vesper Weapon Giveaway, your character must meet the following conditions:

• Your character was created before April 1, 2010.
• Your account was active on April 1, 2010.
• Your account is in good standing and has no history of suspicious activity.
• Your account is a full retail account (not a trial account).
• You have read and agreed to the Vesper Weapon Giveaway Official Rules & Conditions.
• Entrants must comply with the rules and conditions described in the Vesper Weapon Giveaway Official Rules & Conditions.

How to participate in the Giveaway:

Log into Lineage II shortly before your server's designated Giveaway Entry time period. When you see the system announcement telling you what GM Character to send a mail to, do so. Only send one mail to the character. Duplicate pieces of mail from the same character will be deleted and the character will be disqualified.

Notice to all players

A sudden issue with some Vesper Weapon drop-rates has taken effect on all servers, resulting in ordinary monsters all around Aden dropping Vesper weapons at a high frequency. The first report was sent by a character who claimed that their armor and weapon had transformed into Vesper. The on-duty GM entered the game to verify this, but he only saw a strange glow around the character's weapon. The character then emailed a screenshot of their situation and this proved that the character was indeed also wearing Vesper armor and carrying a glowing Vesper weapon. It seems that the transformations cannot be seen by other players.

A hotfix was released to keep the Vesper Weapons from being picked up by players, but testing confirmed that the hotfix neglected to remove one of the weapons. It was determined that some real Vesper weapons could not be removed from the servers. Read below for details on the bug.

Warning

Please do not be alarmed if an unexpected affect occurs when you pick up a Vesper weapon. During an emergency phone conference with the developers regarding this issue, they decided that if a real Vesper weapon slips into a player's inventory, they may keep it.

Vesper Weapon Giveaway Official Rules & Conditions

This contest is organized by NC Interactive, Inc. and NCsoft Europe Limited, who are identified in more detail in Section 9 of this document (the "Sponsors").

1. ENTRY

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. IF YOU ARE ENTERING THIS CONTEST AS A RESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA THIS CONTEST SHALL BE VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY UNITED STATES LAW.

This is a free prize draw (the "Contest") and you are not required to buy any product or service from the Sponsors to enter the Contest.

Participants must follow this method of entry:

1. Read the full details of this free prize draw as part of the entry process.
2. Log into Lineage II shortly before your server's scheduled Giveaway entry period begins, as listed on the April Fools Day event page.
3. Await the server-wide announcement which will indicate the character to send an in-game mail to.
4. Send that character an in-game mail with the sentence "I accept the Vesper Weapon Giveaway Official Rules and Conditions as displayed on the Lineage II website."

By submitting an entry to the Contest, you accept and agree to be bound by these Official Rules and Conditions.

Any personal information given to the Sponsors when you enter this Contest will only be used to contact you in relation to this Contest. All information concerning non-winning entries will be deleted after the end of the Contest. The personal information concerning the winning entries will be only used in the context of this Contest and use of your entry as agreed between you and the Sponsor. This information will not be disclosed to any third party or used for any other purpose. If you are a winner you hereby give Sponsors and their respective divisions, subsidiaries, affiliates, and agencies full permission, right and authority to use your likeness, photograph, name, hometown, and any comments that you may make/answer to questions Sponsors may provide, or any other information that you provide about yourself, the prize, the Contest, or Lineage II, for the purposes of advertising and promotion (in any media, including but not limited to in print media, television, film, video, radio, internet or otherwise) related to the Contest, Lineage II or each of the Sponsors, without any further notification or compensation to you other than that set out herein. All entries must be received within 1 hour of the first announcement on your server (the "Contest Conclusion") and must be in English. Entries which do not conform to these Official Rules and Conditions will not be accepted. The Contest is limited to one entry per person.

The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, incorrect, unintelligible or misdirected entries, which will be void. Use of a false name, mailing address, or email account will disqualify an entry and the individual who submitted the entry. Sponsor is not responsible for hardware or software malfunctions, lost or unavailable network connections, server unavailability due to technical, capacity constraints or other issues, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled or delayed electronic or other communications. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, can disqualify, from this Contest and/or any other contest conducted by Sponsor, any person who, in Sponsor's reasonable suspicion, tampers with the entry process or the operation of the web site. Sponsor has the right to terminate, suspend or modify this Contest, in whole or in part, at any time and without prior notice, if, in Sponsor's judgment, the Contest is altered, corrupted or cannot be completed as planned due to computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, technical failures, or other conditions beyond Sponsor's control, or at Sponsor's reasonable discretion. Incomplete entries are invalid, and entrants with incomplete entries will be disqualified.

2. ELIGIBILITY

To enter the contest, your character must have been created before April 1st, 2010, your account was active on April 1st, 2010, and your account is in good standing with no history of suspicious activity.

3. DURATION

The contest period will begin at approximately 10am (PDT) on Monday, April 26th, 2010 and end at approximately 5pm (PDT) on Thursday, April 29th, 2010. Each server will be processed at a different time, see the April Fools Day Event page for specific details.

4. SELECTION OF WINNING ENTRIES

The winning entries will be drawn at random by representatives of the Sponsor. Winners will be notified via e-mail and announced on the Lineage II web site on or about Friday, May 7th, 2010. Any and all decisions of the Sponsor, shall be final and binding in all respects.

5. PRIZES

2. Prize awarding process

   Upon selection of a winner, the Sponsors will attempt to contact that person via in-game mail. The person must reply with their email address. The Sponsors will email a Winner's Release Terms document to the winner, who must sign it by hand and return the document to the Sponsor by scanned attachment or by fax by Wednesday, May 5th, 2010.

   If a winner cannot be contacted via the in-game mail or the email address he/she submitted, or refuses or is ineligible to accept the prize then Sponsor reserves the right to award the prize to the next randomly drawn entrant (a "Substitute Winner").

   The Substitute Winner will be contacted as mentioned above and required to comply with the prizes awarding process described in this Section 5.2.

   In the event the Substitute Winner cannot be contacted as mentioned above or does not comply with the prizes awarding process described in this Section 5.2 for a given prize, any such prize will not be awarded. Prizes are not transferable. No substitution of the prize for cash or other goods and services is permitted, except Sponsor reserves the right to provide a substitute prize of approximately equal value. Taxes on prizes (including, without limitation, income taxes), if any, are the sole responsibility of the individual winners. If a winner is under 18 or a minor in his or her state/province/country of residence, his or her parent or guardian must also sign any applicable releases and documentation.

6. GENERAL CONDITIONS

You waive the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages. Except where prohibited, you agree that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved under the laws of the State of Washington. You assume sole liability for injuries, including personal injuries and/or damage to property or prize, caused or claimed to be caused by participating in this contest or the acceptance, loss, shipment, or use of any prize awarded. Sponsor is not responsible for any failure to contact entrants, whether due to technical or human error. All of Sponsor's decisions regarding the application and interpretation of the Rules are final.

In the event that you are resident in the European Union, nothing in these Official Rules and Conditions shall limit or exclude Sponsor's liability for death or personal injury from Sponsor's negligence or fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to the foregoing, the Sponsors shall not be responsible for any liability, loss, damage, cost or expense sustained by you arising out of, or in connection, with your entry into this Contest or use of the prize unless caused by the Sponsors due to gross negligence or intent.

7. WINNERS LIST

The winners of this Contest will be posted on http://www.lineage2.com no later than Friday, May 7th, 2010. Residents of Canada may omit return postage.

8. SEVERABILITY

Should any condition contained in this Contract prove unenforceable, void or incomplete, the validity of the other conditions will remain unaffected.
