It's that time of year again when the leaves are changing, people are shopping for costumes, and pumpkins abound at grocery stores. For this Halloween, the GMs are working with Elpies to bring you a fun game that gives you lots of rewards. Don't worry, the rewards aren't candy that could rot your teeth, but useful and valuable items for your character.

If you go hunting during the event times, an elpy may appear nearby. If you tell this Halloween Elpy "Trick or Treat," it invites you to play a game in a special GM-controlled area. While in the special area, you are transformed into a terrifying werewolf-like creature. While transformed, kill as many elpies as you can during the time limit and collect their loot. When the time is up, you return (still transformed) to where you were hunting-- but with pockets full of loot!

The Trick or Treat GM Event will be held on October 26th, 27th, and 28th, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. (Pacific Time). The event will occur simultaneously on both servers. There will be server-wide announcements each day that will broadcast when the event starts and ends.

1. Go hunting during the event times.
   
2. If you see an Elpy appear next to you, quickly say or shout "Trick or Treat" through your chat window. You must say this phrase within 20 seconds of seeing the Elpy.
   
3. If you say "Trick or Treat" in time, you are teleported to the GM room.
   
4. Use the Warehouse Manager NPC in the GM room to free as much inventory space as much as possible. You will be collecting a lot of loot, so you'll need some room.
   
5. When you're ready to play the game, the GM will transform you in a werewolf-like creature. While transformed, you can attack only using the skills of your transformed form.
   
6. After you are transformed, you will be teleported to another room that is full of loot-bearing Elpies.
   
7. You have 2 minutes to kill all the Elpies you can and collect their loot.
   
8. While you are in the Elpy room, you may only kill Elpies while transformed. If the transformation is cancelled for whatever reason, you will be disqualified and your rewards removed. This is to prevent abuse of the Elpy room by different character classes and different skills.
   
9. After the time is up, you are taken back to the Warehouse Manager in the GM room to manage your inventory, and then you are returned to the place you were originally hunting (or to a town if you'd prefer).
   
10. You will still be transformed after the game is over. You may enjoy the transformation until it expires or cancel it manually.

If you're hunting in a group, all nearby party members in the group can participate in this game. The group members will be teleported and transformed together, and can work as a team to kill and loot the Elpies. Remember, though, that some of the loot items are not tradable.

The elpies in the GM event room drop a random variety of items. We've provided a partial list of the items that drop below. The remaining items are a trick-or-treat surprise!

In addition to the GM event, we are sending every character a Halloween Gift to celebrate. After the regular server maintenance on October 26, look in your private warehouse for a Golden Jack O'Lantern Mask 7 Day Pack! This box contains a Golden Jack O'Lantern Mask [7 Day Limited Period], that expires exactly seven days after you take it out of the box. However, because this gift is for use during the Halloween holiday period, unopened boxes will be removed with the maintenance on November 9, 2010. Remember to open your box before November 9 to enjoy this treat!

When you equip the mask, your character will have a shining Jack O'Lantern pumpkin placed over its head, and gain access to a new item skill:

• [Skill] Authority of Golden Jack O'Lantern Mask: Increase max HP 40%, max MP40%, max CP 40%, Physical Def. 30%, Magic Def. 30%, Spd. 30% of party members for 10 minutes. Reuse Delay 1 hour.
