Movie Contest Rules and Conditions

Are you a budding filmmaker? Can you capture the world of Lineage® II in a movie? Celebrate the two year anniversary and show us your movie magic by creating a Lineage® II short film to be judged in the following categories: Best Action, Best Comedy, and Best Overall.

Submission Guidelines

The short film must be related to Lineage® II in some way and can be created with any method. In-game scenes, live action roleplaying, or animated masterpieces – it‘s up to you! Please be sure that your film does not infringe any patent, copyright, trademark or other intellectual property right, or any privacy, publicity or publishing rights of any third party, or is libelous, obscene or otherwise contrary to law.

All submissions will be judged equally on the following criteria: originality, creativity, presentation and visual portrayal.

Your film entry can be no longer than 3 minutes in length. It must be submitted in L2R, WMV, AVI, or MPEG 640x480 format and codec suggestions are mpeg 4 or soreson 3. Audio should be 16-bit stereo sound, 22khz.

You may either host the film on a web site and submit a URL where we can download it, or burn the movie to a CD and mail it to our office. Please see the Official Rules and Conditions for more information on movie submissions.

Only ONE short film entry per person will be accepted. All participants must be current Lineage® II subscribers. You can designate what categories you want to be judged in, but please note that judges retain the right to consider you for multiple categories, however, you can only win one prize.

Films must be in final, polished condition when submitted for this contest. Any changing or updating of films online or sending of new versions after your initial version has been received will result in disqualification!

The contest begins on Monday, April 24, 2006, at 9:00 AM (CDT) and ends at 11:59 PM (CDT) on Monday, May 22, 2006. Winners will be announced no later than Friday, June 2, 2006.

Movie Score

Due to copyright music laws, if you’re going to “score” your cinematic masterpiece, you must use the original Lineage® II music by composer Bill Brown. You can download these files from the Lineage® II FTP site during the submission period.

Feel free to combine music selections and/or splice them if you wish, but you may not add your own or use music created by someone else. You may also record your own voiceover, but copyrighted sound bytes from television programs, movies, etc. are strictly prohibited. Film entries that violate intellectual property laws will be automatically disqualified from the contest.

Eligibility

You must be 13 years of age or older to participate and a legal resident of the United States (excluding the State of Rhode Island, and excluding Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. territories, military installations and commonwealths) or Canada (excluding Quebec) as of Monday, April 24, 2006 to participate in this contest.
